How to Successfully Differentiate Yourself in the Marketplace
Competition is up and volume is down. We’ve been here before as an industry so the real question is how will we differentiate ourself in the marketplace? One way is to stand apart from the typical reverse mortgage professional. It’s time for each of us to reexamine how we present ourself and more importantly just how we are perceived by others. Let’s look at few areas where we can blaze new trails in creating a persona that is both real and yet unique and attractive.
#1: Build on your strengths. Are you a strong public speaker? If so leverage your talent by conducting public reverse mortgage workshops. Are you better on the phone than face to face? Some are. If you find you are more persuasive by phone than in person seek to find ways to focus your efforts on sales by telephone and perhaps partner with someone who can go and meet with their clients in the home.
