Activities such as outbound sales calls, networking with professionals or marketing will suffer if we give in. The truth is if we take the easy road now it will certainly create problems down the road. Fear inhibits action and that is why one of my favorite phrases is ‘Do it scared’. Shannon,
While I believe your story about bees, who among those who listen to you at least twice each week would EVER believe you were scared of public speaking. PLEASE!!
(While you may be paranoid of bees that does not mean that there aren’t some out there ready to sting you. — Have a great weekend!!)
While I wrote the foregoing tongue in check, I write the following with all sincerity. It takes a LOT of guts to so freely discuss what gives you fear. I admire you for it!!!
Thank you for sharing with us the things that scare you most.
Thank you Shannon, I needed this today! After being on the HUD call yesterday and bing one who has been doing Reverse Mortgages for 20 years, I was very angry at what is being done to the program that has saved many Senior’s homes and allowed them to keep their homes and ” age in place.” I am sure President Regan is turning over in his grave because the changes in the program will perhaps eliminate the ones who need it most. I personally am sad!!
I am working on my objectives for 2015, and being new to this industry, but not sales, I found myself having the ‘fearful’ feelings just doing my projections. I did force myself to do it, and It is giving me a guide to follow for activity to do to be successful. I learned long ago to focus on activity, not results, but its easier said than done because only the results bring the paycheck. Thanks for reminding us of the ‘FEAR FACTOR’
