Time: Managing a finite resource
My wife’s late uncle Al always told us “make memories. That’s what matters”. He certainly did in the last years of his life. In fact, we made some great memories in our home a mere 4 days before his untimely passing from a sudden heart attack.
How we manage our time is not just about efficiency or making more money, it’s about managing a finite resource that shapes our human experience, relationships, and our legacy.

If we are equal, then this is one way we all are. We have time. How we manage that time is up to us particularly in this republic we live in.
More than ever before, politics are at the forefront but I have found that people get worked up just to be disappointed. This week I got caught up in an interesting contest that again only disappointed me but in one sense I am glad. That disappointment got me back on track. Nothing was wrong with the contest but I invested far too much time in it.
Even the Bible tells us to redeem our time. It seems that even 2,000 years ago, some recognized the value of time and admonished us to utilize it in a wise manner. As Shannon advises, not everything is about work or success at work. I am sure that at least some of the industrialists that society honors for their dedication to work down deep inside wished they had spent some of that time differently.
