While this man’s plight is pitiful, it seems he contributed to his own demise. Normally, a well maintained condo project with adequate reserves will have more value than one that is dilapidated and its reserves are underfunded or depleted. Was the man ever on the condo board? Did he not read the financial statements of the HOA? Did he not notice deterioration and disrepair? It seems he is trying to put the blame on someone else. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Here it applies as well.
