It seems for some seniors Aging in Place is nothing more than an euphemism.

As to gloom and doom, it is most likely that the third quarter (ending 6/30/2024) of this fiscal year will have slightly less than 6,000 HECM endorsements. With the current trend in case number assignments, it is far more than likely that the HECM endorsements for this fiscal year (ending 9/30/2024) will not even reach 31,000, making it the worst fiscal year for endorsements in 21 fiscal years. If pressed, the strongest
case for now calls for an estimated range of between 25,000 and 27,000 HECM endorsements for fiscal year 2024.
